Swearing-in of Members of Parliament and Election of Deputy Speakers for the 9th Parliament
In a historic event marking the beginning of the 9th Parliament, Members of Parliament (MPs) took their oaths of office during an inaugural session presided over by the Rt. Honourable Speaker. The ceremony, a significant step in the democratic process, set the stage for the legislative term ahead.
Following the swearing-in, the House conducted elections for the First and Second Deputy Speakers, culminating in the appointment of two distinguished lawmakers. Bernard Ahiafor, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) MP for Akatsi South, was elected as the First Deputy Speaker. Andrew Asiamah Amoako, the Independent MP for Fomena, was elected as the Second Deputy Speaker.
